Karawhiua Atu: Maori and Involuntary Chemical Exposure
This report is a review of existing literature on involuntary chemical exposure to Maori. It is one section of a larger research project called: Health, Cultural and Social Experiences of Maori who Believe They Have Been Affected by Chemical Related Illness, undertaken by Te Atawhai O Te Ao: Independent Maori Institute for Environment and Health. This was a two year research project 2006-2008 funded by the Health Research Council of New Zealand.
This review focuses on involuntary chemical exposures to New Zealand Maori as they can be inferred from various scientific papers and reports in New Zealand, and where possible, on the outcomes that can be associated with such exposures.
